Fun Find Friday – Printicular App

Welcome to the first Scrapper on the Street Fun Find Friday! I will be popping in to share bits and pieces that can help us in our story telling and scrapbooking journey.

Now you know I am a big fan of Instagram, I love the idea of capturing moments wherever you are and sharing them and storing them and then making them artsy and fun with different filters. You might have even heard that I’m teaching this little class where I’m going to encourage the use of Instagrams. So that begs the question – how do we print these?

In an earlier post I put together a little tutorial on how I print these Instagram photos at home. I absolutely still use this method but I relied heavily on Instagram photos for my Celebrate the Season album and I was traveling for the majority of the holiday season, which left me at a loss as to how to incorporate these photos in my album as I was trying to complete pages on the go. Which means I’m still working on it – but that’s a post for another day!

So the other day in my online travels I came across the phone app Printicular. This app is so cool, what Printicular does is allows you to order your Instagram, Facebook or phone photos to be printed and ready for you to pick up at Walgreens in an hour! WHAT?! So of course I had to try this immediately and WOW! I was able to download the app, order my photos and pick them up all within an hour. Easy peasy.

Ok one thing to absolutely keep in mind is that you have to order your Instagram photos separately from your Facebook or phone photos. The reason, the Instagram photos are printed as 4×4 prints and the prints from other media is printed as 4×6. So in order to get the most out of your Instagram prints in the cool square format just select them separately. I love the way my three prints turned out. I loved how fast the whole process is and that you can pick your Walgreens based on zip code so you can do this from anywhere you are that has a nearby location. I will ABSOLUTELY being using this in the future and next time I travel and take to the streets.

The other thing I love about this app; it is available for iphones AND Android phones which works for me since I’m an android user. Find out more about this app here if you’re an iphone user or here if you’re an android user. I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on this or any other Instagram printing app you may use so be sure to leave a comment below. And have you created a project using Instagram photos? Let’s see ‘em!
